We are launching a program to help parents come into community and prepare for the conversations and decisions that come with supporting a trans or gender non-conforming child.

We are recruiting parents who want to join our pilot program in September 2025

  • have a child under 18 who is trans or gender non-conforming

  • only recently learned they are on this new parenting journey

  • are feeling disoriented or unsure how to support their child

  • is interested in joining a pilot program that will also help other parents

Hello! My name is Susannah.

The Blue Canary Project was founded to build programs that create community and conversations so that all kids thrive and can unleash their superpowers.

I am building this program because I am the proud mom of a young trans man and I know through my own experiences - and talking to parents across the country - how even the most supportive parent can feel unprepared to help their gender non-conforming child navigate the social norms and systems of a gender binary world.

I also have 20+ years experience building social impact programs for adults to learn new ways of thinking and learning in community.
